| How
It Works |
 |
|
| Using
the plan is simple. Just present your card at the pharmacy and save immediately!
Our network includes over 98% of the pharmacies nationwide including Puerto
Rico, featuring: CVS, Wal-Mart, Eckerd, Walgreen’s and most other chains.
You can even do an online search for pharmacies in your area. |
|
| You
save money because our member’s price is a reduction from the Average Wholesale
Price (AWP), not the Average Retail Price. |
|
| The
LibertyRx Prescription Plan saves you money because select drugs are available
to you at tiered fees of $10, $20, or $50 and almost every other drug has
a specially negotiated price that is guaranteed to be the lowest possible
price. |
|
| Access
the Canadian Pharmacy for real savings on maintenance (drugs you take frequently
or daily) medications. You can enroll online to get started! |
|
| How
can I keep my prescription drug costs down? |
| The
use of generic prescription drugs, whenever available, is most cost effective.
Don’t be shy – discuss your prescription options with your doctor. Ask whether
an alternative, less expensive option would work for your condition. |
|
| What
does special negotiated price mean? |
| We
have negotiated the lowest price possible on a nationwide basis with pharmacy
retailers. Additionally, we have arranged for you to receive a greater savings
by giving you, the member, the benefit of the payment that the drug company
would normally give the PBM. By passing that payment on to our members in
the form of savings off your prescription price, you get the best price. |
|
| What
happens if my local retail pharmacy’s advertised price is less than the
negotiated network price? |
| Drug
prices change weekly and a pharmacy can set their prices lower or higher
than the AWP. A pharmacy could sell a drug below AWP, called a loss leader,
to attract business. Those lower prices rarely last long. Be sure you pay
the lowest, advertised price. |
|
| How
can I tell if my prescription has been processed under my membership? |
| An
electronically processed prescription will have a Claim Reference Number
on the receipt or label. This is your assurance that you have received the
lowest possible price. |
|
| What
can I do if a pharmacy will not honor my Prescription Card? |
| The
card is accepted at over 98% of pharmacies throughout the United States
and Puerto Rico. The network includes pharmacy chains as well as thousands
of independent pharmacies throughout the country. Pharmacy location information
can be obtained by contacting our customer service department. If a neighborhood
pharmacy is not already participating in our network, please have them call
us. We will send them information about how they can participate in the
network so that you can take advantage of the savings as soon as possible.
In the mean time, you can transfer your prescription to a participating
pharmacy. |
|
| What
prescription quantity can I get? |
| Normally,
prescriptions are written in 14 to 30 day supplies. You can verify the Tier
that a particular drug dosage and quantity is under using the Search Drugs
option. Quantities of drugs are limited per purchase. If you take maintenance
prescriptions it will be to your advantage to choose the Canadian Pharmacy. |
